It appears to be a "mixed blessing" kind of year for interns.
While internship opportunities are slightly up - employers expect to hire 7% more interns this year than last, according to the results of the NACE 2011 Internship & Co-op Survey - pay has taken a small dip. According to NACE's results (drawn from 266 participating employers), Bachelor's degree students taking part in internships in 2011 will earn an average of $16.68 an hour, down from $17.00 last year. The average anticipated hourly rate for Master's degree students is $24.21, compared to $24.29 last year.
