Wondering how merit increase differentiation has faired through the recession and record low salary budgets? The early high level results released by WorldatWork for its 2010-11 Salary Budget Survey give us some answers. Their data in the table that follows.
In comparing the two years, it appears that employers are aspiring to do a little better by their high performers in 2010 than in 2009 - both absolutely and relative to their middle performers. My analysis of this below.
There we have it, for what it's worth. All I can say is ... no wonder we're looking beyond merit pay, and even cash rewards, to drive performance.
