I have the opportunity to work with a team of businesspeople planning a new venture. Why? Because...
They see talent management as the primary, if not sole source of competitive advantage in their industry;
They believe that a "best in class" reward program will be the linchpin of their talent management strategy; and
So, therefore, they feel that articulating a reward philosophy and defining the broad outlines of their reward program must be a centerpiece of their business plan.
Think this will catch on?
I'm counting on it :-)

We can always hope and dream.

You may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one...

Netflix has a philosophy of being in the top 90% of pay and only hiring the top 10% of employees. They credit that with their growth, energy, and sense of engagement. They say that performance matters and that pay is a strategic advantage...they may be a living compensation lab for all of us to watch.

Judy:
Nice call out - if we're smart, we will be watching and learning!
Thanks!

Yes, it's all about employees. They are the engine to the train. Zappos is another good example company that invests in employees, as well as Google.
