The job market continues to look good for new college graduates, according to findings from the Spring 2007 issue of NACE's (National Association of Colleges & Employers) Salary Survey.
Average starting salaries (and how these figures compare to those from one year ago) for a sample of the college majors covered by the survey are shown below:
Business Majors
- Marketing - $41,285 (+10.3%)
- Business Administration/Management - $44,048 (+7.5%)
- Accounting - $47,421 (+2.7%)
- Economics - $53,449*
- Finance - $47,877*
- MIS/Business Data Processing - $46,966 (+4.9%)
- Computer Science - $52,177 (+2.5%)
Engineering Majors
- Chemical Engineering - $59,707 (+5.6%)
- Civil Engineering - $47,750 (+4.8%)
- Computer Engineering - $55,946 (+3.2%)
- Electrical Engineering - $54,915 (+1.6%)
- Mechanical Engineering - $54,695 (+5.7%)
Liberal Arts Majors
- Liberal Arts - $31,333 (+1.2%)
*No history is available for these majors as this is the first year that NACE has tracked them separately.
