According to today's Bloomberg News and government reports, hourly earnings climbed 4.2% from a year earlier in each of the last two months of 2006, the biggest advance since February 2001. The article states that the wage gains are putting pressures on profit margins, and shrinking profits may make stock gains harder to come by, if history is any guide.
