Motivation without direction and capability is energized incompetence

Great quote, it has made me think as I hold a view that the worst kind of leader is someone with great influencing skills but poor ability to pick direction.

But you quote is broader than that, it implies that motivated people would be running of in every direction rather than in one direction. But also if they were all going in the right direction and were motivated but lacked capability then success would be a real challenge.

So you need motivation, direction and capability to ensure your success.
